Blended Social Impact Investment Transactions: Why Are They So Complex?

چکیده
Abstract Blended social impact investment (SII) transactions, in which multiple types of capital are combined to support attainment impact, a pervasive, yet not closely examined, feature the SII market. This paper seeks describe and understand blended transactions through lens institutional theory. Specifically, we use logics theoretical frame shed light on implications combining several transactions. Consistent with other research, find that parties combine financial/commercial welfare logics. However, different combinations these enacted by stakeholders multi-hybrid-logic structure. As such, propose hybrids-of-hybrids . We argue it is this hybrids-of-hybrid characteristic differentiates from forms increases potential for significant logical misalignment resultant conflict contestation. From business ethics perspective, cast critical often unrecognized role grants concessionary frequently play enabling not-for-profit, charitable ventures. speculate can distort understanding adverse at transaction field levels.

Small Targets: Why are they So Difficult to Acquire?
Facilitating the acquisition of small targets is an active area of research. Despite the usefulness of the techniques proposed so far, we show why this topic can benefit from more fundamental work. We investigate three factors that might account for the observed drop in performance when selecting small targets: motor accuracy, visual legibility and quantization. Our findings suggest that visual...
متن کاملMicrosatellite markers: what they mean and why they are so useful
Microsatellites or Single Sequence Repeats (SSRs) are extensively employed in plant genetics studies, using both low and high throughput genotyping approaches. Motivated by the importance of these sequences over the last decades this review aims to address some theoretical aspects of SSRs, including definition, characterization and biological function. The methodologies for the development of S...
متن کاملOxygen uptake kinetics: Why are they so slow? And what do they tell us?
VO(2) kinetics and O(2) deficit are important determinants of exercise tolerance. In "normal" conditions convective and diffusive O(2) delivery to skeletal muscle fibers do not represent important determinants of VO(2) kinetics, whose limiting factors seem mainly located within muscle fibers. Whereas a limiting role by PDH has not been confirmed, the role of inhibition of mitochondrial respirat...
